INNOCENT FLAME

Upcoming solo show October 11-29, 2023 at the Ptarmigan Art Gallery, Pender Island, BC.

The show will feature work from my travels throughout Pender with large canvases and other surfaces, and having adult residents draw or paint onto them what they were preoccupied with/used to draw as a child. The end result being layers of their artwork on each canvas that elicit a new way of seeing our unique island, while also highlighting what we have in common.  Where most galleries have ropes and signs instructing “do not touch”, this show invites the embellishments of the visitor’s inner child onto the work, contributing to pieces that began early in the summer. The show will also include “living” sculptures that change with visitor participation. Because of the mercurial nature of the work, no two days of the show will be alike.
